Weight Lifting Game

Welcome

The Commonwealth Weightlifting Federation (CWF) was established 63 years ago in 1947. It is one of the oldest sporting federations of the Commonwealth and is unique in that it encompasses Commonwealth nations from the five continents and recognised by the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF).

The CWF is focussed on enhancing its inclusive sporting environment in order to maintain its position as one of the leading and most progressive sporting organisations within the Commonwealth.

Having been included to the sports program of the Commonwealth Games in 1950, weightlifting has enjoyed a long and rich history within the movement. As a core sport of the Commonwealth Games since ‘Melbourne 2006’, our sport has produced countless champions, many of whom also achieved athletic success at the World Championships and Olympic Games.

As time has gone by, the technological age has brought the Commonwealth members of the five continents even closer together. Now with the support of ZKC (Zhangkong Barbell), the professional assistance of Miles Wydall and the support of the IWF, we now have an official website which will keep you updated with the latest information from the Commonwealth countries within this vast region of ours.

The CWF secretariat is located in Noumea, New Caledonia together with the Oceania Weightlifting Federation.
